What time is check in and out?
The cottage will be available from 3pm on the day of your arrival booking. You will need to depart by 10am on the day of your departure.

Can I Bring my Pet?
The cottage is a pet free property. We do not permit dogs or other animals in the house or grounds during your stay. This enables us to maintain a space suitable for guests with animal allergies.

Is there parking on site?
We have our own private parking space for 1 car, this is clearly marked and located across the track from the cottage. Parking diagonally its possible to fit a VW Touran/Kia Nero sized car. If you drive a larger/ longer vehicle there is free off street parking in a small car park over the road, and ample unrestricted free parking on the road throughout the village.

Can I charge my car?
No facilities currently at the cottage, however there are type 2 charge points in Millers Dale station Car Park (with a cafe) (2.5 miles) & Stoney Middleton Rock View Apartments ( Capola cafe nearby) (4 miles). There are Tesla changing points at the Cavendish Hotel Baslow and in Bakewell.

Are bed sheets and towels provided?
Yes, the beds will be made up upon arrival with bath sheets and hand towels for each guest. A bath mat will be located in the shower room. Additional blankets and hot water bottles can be found in the wardrobe if required.

Can I eat nearby?
Yes the Red Lion pub is a few mins away in the Village, a traditional pub with log burners and a hearty menu. You can also walk to Tideswell along cute narrow lanes where there are a selection of independent resultants and pubs... take a torch for the walk home. Check out the Michelin Guide for some lovely local pubs restaurants within a short drive.

Is the property non smoking?
Absolutely. We do not permit smoking or vaping in the cottage or courtyard garden.

Is the cottage suitable for children?
Whilst the cottage is not specifically designed with kids in mind, for our smallest guests a travel cot and highchair can be provided upon request - you must provide your own bedding for the travel cot. There are plastic plates and smaller sized cutlery along with a food blender in the kitchen. For older children there are a selection of games, books and DVD's, they will also enjoy the loft bed with its own little owl lamp for bedtime reading. Across the road is a newly refurbished play park. There is field for ball games adjacent to Christ Church Litton.
Stair gates are not provided.

I am deaf/ hard of hearing is there anything I need to know about the cottage?
We have a portable vibrating pillow pad and strobe light which links to the fire alarm. If you would benefit from this, please do ask prior to your stay and we will ensure the housekeeping team set it up for you.
There is no doorbell in the property.
The TV has standard subtitle facilities.

Is there a farm nearby?
Litton is a working village with 2 dairy farms, during winter months the cows are housed in barns. In the summer months they live in the surrounding fields and come in twice daily for milking. Milking time is enjoyable and they can moo merrily coming into the barn. Please expect the sights, sounds and smells of rural life during your stay.

How private is the Cottage?
Holborn Cottage is in a village, there are residential houses and working farms nearby. From the outdoor space occasional people will walk past, but it is located on a private dead end lane.
The property is attached to another cottage on one side, but the thick walls mean you are unlikely to hear any noise inside the building.

Do you offer catering or any other services?
We don't have our own team to provide additional services, however Sauced Here are a lovely local firm who can provide self selected hampers. Click here to find out more from them.

Can I have food shopping delivered?
Yes Waitrose, Occado, Sainsbuy's deliver to the door, other supermarkets may also.
While you stay there is large well stocked Co-op and a Aldi in Bakewell. There is a Cook concession at Spar White's in Calver.

What happens at Christmas?
During December until after New Year, we dress the cottage for Christmas. A 6ft tree with fairy lights and colour coordinated decorations will be positioned in the sittingroom. We try to add in a few extra touches... these change each year. The welcome hamper also takes on a more festive vibe.
